Every 1’s a critic

In Febuary 2008, producers Declan Hill and Simon Wright won a Fringe award for Best Encouragers of Talent, for their work developing sitcom scripts.

They're now working with the Arts Theatre in the West End to promote new work and are actively looking for new scripts.

So you've written your brilliant sitcom and it’s in the sticky hands of every company from Alomo to Zeppotron.  All you have to do now is wait.  And wait.  And... you get the point.  Surely there's something more useful you could be doing? Something that will help you hone your craft and reduce your chances of rejection?

Well, obviously there is or we wouldn't be writing this.

Last year producers Declan Hill and Simon Wright organised Sitcom Trials 2007 to find new sitcom writing.  Each week four sitcoms competed in the cauldron of a live performance and the audience voted two of them through to the next round.  The four sitcoms that made it to the final at the Soho Theatre were seen by an invited audience of industry insiders,  and legendary producer Geoff Posner is now in discussions with the winning writer of Sweet As.

We were such a huge success, we thought we'd do it again.  Bigger.

This time we're working with the Arts Theatre in London's West End.

You may think you've written a killer line, but you'll only really know it’s funny if you see how it plays with a paying audience.  We provide the professional actors and directors to make that happen.

All successful writers know that you never send out a script to a TV production company until it's the very best you can make it.  Come to us and make it better.
